If you are one of the 45% of the population that made a New Year’s Resolution, how’s it going – no matter what time of year it is?

The most common resolutions are to get fit, lose weight, get organized, and save more money.  No matter the type of resolution, there are some strategies that you can use to help you stay on task.  

Even using the simple strategies below, you might need help.  Reaching for goals can be overwhelming!  Reach out to a coach, personal trainer, nutritionist, or respected friend to help you on your path to meet your goals and to help you stay accountable especially to yourself.

Nutritional Knowledge You Can Use

Working as an exercise coach involves long hours.  My day starts when the alarm goes off at 4 am and I’m often not home til about 8 or 8:30 pm.  Don’t get me wrong, my day can have some breaks between classes, appointments, squeezing in a workout or run, and administrative work.  My office is 15 miles from home so running home is not an efficient use of time to get lunch or dinner.   So I like to put something together that is healthy and easy to bring with me for meals.

Fitness Fun & Facts: Aging “Great”-fully

“Aging” can be a touchy subject around people in my age bracket.   The fitter people tend to feel good, motivated, positive, less sensitive to age.  Those of us in the 40 – 50+  age range that have not maintained a high level of fitness may look back and think “I wish I stayed fit!”.   We often feel it’s too late to become fitter and healthier and think that we are too old to make lifestyle changes or to be more physically active.  We shudder at the thought of each birthday because we are “getting older”.
